Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited (IMPCL) was established on 12th July 1978 under the administrative control of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, with the prime objective of manufacturing and marketing genuine, safe, and efficacious Indian System of Medicines.
IMPCL supplies its products to Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Central Government Research Councils such as CCRAS, CCRUM, other Central and State Government institutions, and also caters to the trade market. Over the decades, IMPCL has emerged as one of the most trusted manufacturers of Ayurvedic and Unani medicines in India, known for the authenticity, quality, and standardization of its formulations.
IMPCL is the only Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) engaged in the manufacturing of Ayurvedic and Unani medicines under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The company is a joint venture of the Government of India, holding 98.11% equity shares, and the Government of Uttarakhand through KMVNL, holding 1.89% equity shares.
The manufacturing facility of IMPCL is located at Mohan, Uttarakhand, nestled in the serene foothills of the Himalayas at an altitude of approximately 550 meters above sea level, in close proximity to the Jim Corbett landscape. The location provides a conducive environment for processing and manufacturing herbal medicines in accordance with classical texts and modern quality standards.
In recognition of its consistent performance, contribution to public healthcare, and role in promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat, IMPCL has been conferred Mini Ratna status by the Government of India.
The authorized equity share capital of the Company is ₹75 Crore, and the paid-up share capital is ₹51.98 Crore.
